Digital
radiography
Dental x-rays
work by creating an image of the denser parts of your body, such
as teeth and bone, revealing dental problems that may not be apparent
to the naked eye. At Queensbay Dental
Centre, we use this technology to detect and treat
various disorders, such as cavities, infections, impacted teeth
and decay, in their early stages. We use several types of x-rays
in diagnosing dental problems, including:
•
Bitewing x-rays- check for decay between teeth
• Periapical X-rays: to detect problems at the end of the
tooth root
• Digital Panoramic X-rays:
give a full range view of the oral structures
And
we offer in-office digital panoramic x-ray for your convenience.
The digital panoramic x-ray system allows our dentists to take
a picture of a patient's teeth and immediately view the images
on a computer monitor with up to 90%
less radiation. The digital imaging software allows
our doctors to see a number of different views of your teeth and
to gain a better understanding of the proper course of management.
The digital images can then be magnified, rotated, focused, colorized,
measured, and drawn, aiding in the diagnosis.
